More about arc fault circuit breakers
Arc fault circuit breakers (AFCI breakers) are advanced safety devices designed to detect dangerous electrical arcs that can cause fires. Unlike standard circuit breakers that only respond to overloads and short circuits, AFCI circuit breakers use sophisticated electronic sensing to identify hazardous arc patterns. The Canadian Electrical Code now requires these circuit breakers on most 15A and 20A circuits in dwelling units.
