A molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) is designed to eliminate the risk of short circuiting or overload within electrical circuits. With very high current ratings of up to 3200A, these circuit breakers are suitable for a wide range of frequencies and voltages. In large-scale systems and complex heavy-duty electronics, molded case circuit breakers are used instead of miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) for enhanced safety and system isolation. MCCBs provide both thermal protection against sustained overloads using a bimetallic strip and magnetic interruption for instant response to short circuit faults.
