Heat cycling, vibration and repeated load switching quietly degrade stab contacts, springs and insulation until a plug that looks perfectly serviceable from the outside becomes the hot joint that takes down your bus duct. Every Major Bus Duct System, Including Obsolete Ones

We process bus plugs across every major bus duct platform: Square D I-Line, Eaton and Westinghouse Pow-R-Way, GE Spectra and Armor-Clad, Siemens and ITE XL-U, Federal Pioneer and Cutler Hammer. Many of these systems have been out of production for decades, yet thousands of Canadian facilities still depend on them daily. Because we stock Canada's largest inventory of electrical apparatus, we can frequently supply a fully reconditioned, like-for-like plug the same day, which matters enormously when a line is down and the original manufacturer stopped supporting the product years ago.

The Advanced Manufacturing Process

Each plug entering our shop is identified by bus system, amperage, voltage and configuration, then fully disassembled. Stab assemblies, springs, interiors, operating mechanisms and enclosures are inspected individually rather than as an assembly, because the failures that matter hide in the details.

Stab jaws are the heart of a bus plug and the most common point of failure. Our technicians clean, re-tension or replace stab assemblies so the plug seats onto the bus bar with correct factory contact pressure. Pitted or overheated contact surfaces are refinished or renewed. Interiors are stripped, cleaned and re-insulated. Switch mechanisms are verified through their full travel, fuse clips are serviced or replaced on fusible units, and breaker-style plugs are fitted with fully tested circuit breakers drawn from our own inventory. Every fastener is renewed and torqued to specification, and door hardware and interlocks are restored to correct operation.

Proven Before It Ships

No plug leaves our facility on a visual inspection. Insulation resistance and dielectric testing verify the integrity of the rebuilt insulation system using a Megger MIT520/2 5kV insulation tester. Contact resistance through the stabs and the complete power path is measured with an AEMC 5600 micro-ohmmeter, confirming the plug will carry its rated load without the resistive heating that destroys bus plugs in service. Results are recorded on an ANSI-standard test report that ships with every unit, and every reconditioned bus plug is backed by our 2-year warranty.
